Hellraiser III Review

Hellraiser III came out in 1992 and was directed by the ever-cunty Anthony Hickox. We have used science (and possibly the box cover) to determine that this movie fits perfectly into the "Cenobyte Horror" genre.

During the time we had our polls open, 237 evasive viewers just like you weighed in on Hellraiser III. 159 of 'em thought it was great! 78 thought it was shit. Takes all kinds.

This is a Dave and Jim's B-Movie Review. This review was written some time between 1996 and 2001. Once you've sucked the marrow from this one, you can head back to the full list to pick another review for savoring. Do it again and again.

Dave's Review

Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth is by far the weakest of the Hellraiser series. I think it's safe to say that Clive Barker would like to divorce himself from the whole thing. But don't let that stop you from seeing it. The Hellraiser movies rule, and even the weakest of them is still a whole lot of fun to watch. There's gore aplenty, and lots of scenes with everybody's favorite cenobyte: Pinhead.

Jim's Review

I view the third movie in this most remarkable series to be the start of it's decent. From a supernature horror film to the level of just being a slasher film. As far as slasher movies go it is easily one of the best, but it is still just a slasher movie. If you have started the Hellraiser Series I would tell you to just go ahead and watch the rest of them, but if you have not seen a Hellraiser movie yet, I firmly suggest that you watch the earlier ones first.
