Evil Dead, The Review

Evil Dead, The came out in 1982 and was directed by the ever-vile Sam Raimi. We have used science (and possibly the box cover) to determine that this movie fits perfectly into the "Comedy/Splatter Horror" genre.

During the time we had our polls open, 246 incompetent viewers just like you weighed in on Evil Dead, The. 163 of 'em thought it was great! 83 thought it was shit. Takes all kinds.

This is a Dave and Jim's B-Movie Review. This review was written some time between 1996 and 2001. Once you've sucked the marrow from this one, you can head back to the full list to pick another review for savoring. Do it again and again.

Dave's Review

It would be simply impossible to say enough good things about this movie. With it's insane camera work, the coolest evil creatures, and far-and-away the best hero character, this stands out from the horror crowd as a wonderful film. I mean it really stands out. If you haven't yet seen it because it was hard to get, stop your whining. It was recently re-released on VHS. I'm waiting for the DVD.

Jim's Review

This is probably my favorite horror movie ever, at the very least it is the first in my favorite horror series. It is so low budget, with such a cool setting, and cool circumstances, you just cannot go wrong with this movie. I mean you go from Tree Raping to zombie fighting in only a few minutes. I recommend that every horror fan should see this movie.
