Night of the Living Dead, The (1968) Review

Night of the Living Dead, The (1968) came out in 1968 and was directed by the ever-shitty George A. Romero. We have used science (and possibly the box cover) to determine that this movie fits perfectly into the "horror" genre.

During the time we had our polls open, 316 goat-fucking viewers just like you weighed in on Night of the Living Dead, The (1968). 232 of 'em thought it was great! 84 thought it was shit. Takes all kinds.

This is a Dave and Jim's B-Movie Review. This review was written some time between 1996 and 2001. Once you've sucked the marrow from this one, you can head back to the full list to pick another review for savoring. Do it again and again.

Dave's Review

Even if you don't factor in the fact that this movie was made a long, long time ago, it is still a great zombie flick. All but one of the characters are a tad bit annoying, but trust me, that's so that you will still feel good about yourself when the movie's over. Let's face it, nobody does 'em like Romero. John Romero is zombie movies. Okay, now let's factor in when the movie was made: wow! For it's time period, it must have been a hell of a shock. So even though I think it's held up through the test of time, the real reason why you must see this is so that you can see where zombie movies have come from and where they are going.

Jim's Review

This is THE classic zombi movie. It is the first movie in Romero's famous zombi series. This movie is a little old, but it has really aged well. It seems a little annoying every once in a while, but the zombies make up for it. On a whole the Original Night of the Living Dead seems a little tame now (Except for the end) but when it was first made it really blew the horror fans of the time away. I recommend that every horror fan watch this movie if they get the chance.
