Omega Doom Review

Omega Doom came out in 1996 and was directed by the ever-erotic Albert Pyun. We have used science (and possibly the box cover) to determine that this movie fits perfectly into the "Android SF" genre.

During the time we had our polls open, 1 incompetent viewers just like you weighed in on Omega Doom. 1 of 'em thought it was great! 0 thought it was shit. Takes all kinds.

This is a Dave and Jim's B-Movie Review. This review was written some time between 1996 and 2001. Once you've sucked the marrow from this one, you can head back to the full list to pick another review for savoring. Do it again and again.

Dave's Review

I was really disapointed by this movie. It had all of the makings of something great - Rutger Hauer, Shannon Whirry, killer androids left over from a war. Where did they go wrong? Well, first off, the Whirry-bot was taken out of the picture early on. That was it's first downfall. Second, the movie's budget was obviously extremely limited. That would have been fine, except that the director let the budget limit the movie itself. There was so much more that they could have done - but didn't. A real disappointment.

Jim's Review

I sort of liked this movie, but I will like almost anything as long as it has robots in it. So besides the fact that it had people who claimed to be robots (Only one character actually ever was actually very robot like), there was nothing particularly special about this movie. I would say it was ok, maybe even a little entertaining, but there are better ways to spend your rental money.
