Castle Freak Review

Castle Freak came out in 1995 and was directed by the ever-delightful Stewart Gordon. We have used science (and possibly the box cover) to determine that this movie fits perfectly into the "Dungeon Horror" genre.

During the time we had our polls open, 324 knob-gobbling viewers just like you weighed in on Castle Freak. 205 of 'em thought it was great! 119 thought it was shit. Takes all kinds.

This is a Dave and Jim's B-Movie Review. This review was written some time between 1996 and 2001. Once you've sucked the marrow from this one, you can head back to the full list to pick another review for savoring. Do it again and again.

Jim's Review

First I must say Castle Freak is no relation to Dr. Frankenstein's Castle of Freaks, no perverted midgets, no ape-men, and no Dr. Frankenstein. Just a castle and its freak. The movie was not too bad, it was a little on the depraved side but nothing that should phase a hardened B- movie fan. It is worth watching if you ever get a chance, I avoided this movie for years due to the title resemblance to Dr. Frankenstein's Castle Of Freaks, and it turns out to be a relatively decent horror film.

Jim broke it down like so: Technology: 7 Action: 7 Nudity: 2 Coolness: 8 Badguys: 7 Gore: 6 Shock: 5 Dialog: 5 Post-Nuke?: N Music: 6 Plot: 5 Length: Short Overall: 7
