Escape From L.A. Review

Escape From L.A. came out in 1996 and was directed by the ever-engorged John Carpenter. We have used science (and possibly the box cover) to determine that this movie fits perfectly into the "Appocalyptic SF" genre.

During the time we had our polls open, 1 vile viewers just like you weighed in on Escape From L.A.. 1 of 'em thought it was great! 0 thought it was shit. Takes all kinds.

This is a Dave and Jim's B-Movie Review. This review was written some time between 1996 and 2001. Once you've sucked the marrow from this one, you can head back to the full list to pick another review for savoring. Do it again and again.

Dave's Review

I'm so split between wanting to love this movie and hating it. Snake Plisken is one of the coolest characters ever. He's mean and he's apathetic. I mean, he really doesn't care. And best of all, he's pissed off.

Jim's Review

Snake Plisken is cool, the action scenes are not so cool. I was never too big a fan of Escape From New York, so I was not excited about Escape from LA. The Ending is pretty cool, and for your Bruce Campbell fans out there, he plays the plastic surgeon. If you are a fan of the first movie, it is probably worth your time to see this one, otherwise it is likely you will be better off skipping it. I suppose if you are very angry at the world the movie might also appeal to you.
