The Project Pool
Page created: 2023-05-31This card comes from project-balance and temporal-workspaces wherein I attempt to deal with way too many concurrent projects.
Something I didn’t mention there is arguably even more important and effective than any organizational method: culling projects!
"But I don’t want to give up on these projects. They’re all important or I wouldn’t be working on them."
Yeah, me too.
So rather than killing them off, let’s write them down so we don’t forget them (and so the part of the unconcious mind that worries about such things knows they’re safe and sound).
But let’s not call it a "To Do" list. Because that implies that they need to be done and perhaps even that they’re some sort of burden.
No, let’s call it a "Project Pool". (Or "Ideas List" or just "Later".)
This is no burden, it’s a wonderful list of things we can’t wait to get to. And when something gets completed and a free time slot opens up, we’re going to pick one of those darling projects from the pool and promote it to active status. So fun!
Back to projects.
