Losing Friends

You don’t want this card, you want Making Friends!

I’ve lost some good friends. (Not lost lost. They’re still alive as far as I know. Only the friendship is lost.) I think of two in particular.

One was because of sheer neglect on either of our part to keep the friendship going. I don’t feel terrible about this. I think this happens a lot as people grow older and go separate ways. But it would be neat to still have regular contact and know what this friend is up to.

The other was because I was a bad friend. I was stupid and selfish and I took my friend for granted. I feel bad about this and I think about it from time to time as the years go by. I wish I knew what this friend was up to.
